I describe myself as a laid back, down to earth, small-town girl with big dreams. I moved to Arizona from Nebraska in 2004 and have been calling the desert home ever since.
Growing up, I dreamt of becoming a fashion designer. I received a full-ride scholarship to fashion school, but in an unexpected turn of event decided to ditch that dream and enrolled in massage school in 2008. A year later I enrolled in esthetic school.
I worked for a few local day spas, but ultimately I decided to rent a space inside of a beauty salon and started building a clientele because I knew that one day I wanted to own my own spa.
One random day in 2015, I decided that it was time to open my day spa. Though I had no former business training, I had optimism, ambition, and perseverance. I strongly believe these are the ingredients to success. You cannot fail if you don't give up!
It has not been an easy road, but in 2018, I was able to move my spa from a modest 500 sf space tucked away in a courtyard behind a Circle K to the space I have now. In 2020, I opened a nail bar, but one year later the Marriott (yes, that Marriott) purchased our building, so we were forced to relocate. Ironically, the suite next to my spa became available, so I moved my nail bar right next door! Fast forward to 2022, and I am now the proud owner of Serene Society anddddd this wasn't part of the plan, but I am also a new mom! You can find photos of my son on our instagram!
